Sunday's Shanghai. We decided to take a look at the Shanghai Science and Technological museum. So we took a metro line and crossed the 黄浦江 to the other side... 浦东.

Shots of the museum interior and exterior. It certainly gives off the techno vibes. However we did not make it inside eventually due to a couple of reasons. The price was too steep and the content of the exhibitions were none too appealing.

A random pillar stuck to the walls of a colonial styled Shanghai Art Museum. It looked like part of a chinese building, taken out and transplanted. I wonder why...
Next stop was the Shanghai Art Museum. Its certainly less expensive. We tried getting discount tickets using our student pass. However there was a distinction between our status and that of the local students. The service staff were very sharp in pointing that out. :( In the end we had to settle for the normal priced adult tickets. Not too bad... it was only 20rmb.

Entrance to the museum

The interior was very spacious.

stairs leading to the upper floors

The surroundings of the art museum.

And then we tried looking for this indie design place which Yanjie read about on the net. So here's parts of the places we went through before reaching the destination.

A peek into the residential estates of people living in Shanghai

A primary school

Shophouses

What does this building remind you of?

We finally reached the destination of the indie design place... Its at 永康路

Kind of like this signboard.

A very old styled kind of district in which the indie shop things are. It certainly has the arty vibes going on.

Its a maze in there. However there were more cafes and bars than design stuff though. So it was quite disappointing as I was hoping to see what kind of indie design stuff there was on offer..

上海南站。 the place where we go back to hangzhou
