Going North.1. 北京 - 陶然公园

晴天

We arrived in Beijing at like 8 am in the morning after taking the overnight train from Hangzhou. The first thing we encountered when we got out of the train was a very very persistent auntie. Before we even managed to get our bearings, she started to waylay us with her propositions of accomodations... We tried to get out of her way, but she was really persistent and followed us. For some reason or another, we ended up following her to see the accomodation on offer... Guess the brain don't really work that well in the midst of her persistent sales. She got even more annoying when she tried to sell us a one day tour package to the Great Wall. Thankfully we managed to avoid her, and stood firm to our decision to not go to her Great Wall package. Anyway her package was not that fantastic either and it did not come cheap. We had other plans for the Great Wall. So we were not that moved by her sales pitch. That was the accomodation settled for Beijing. It was 100元 for a double room... Guess that's about the going rate for accomodation in Beijing.

We decided to hang out at some garden to take a rest from the non-stop-sales-pitch-persistent-auntie in the morning. So we just randomly went into a garden. The garden was called 陶然公园.
Its a nice garden. Great for relaxing and taking it slow.

A small isle in the middle of the lake. There were ducks swimming around.

Cute random shy boy. He was with his grandma.

陶然亭。was closed for renovation.

The bit of yellow among the greens and pinks of spring in the garden.

Wedding photos. Quite a common sight in gardens in China. Sometimes you would find a photographer working for 3 couples at the same time. They would take turns taking photos. And they would have some sort of package deal, with some seemingly standard shots. Those kinds by the water, in the flower fields... Wonder how they feel about this sort of package deal.. But anyhow, they seem to enjoy it alot.

Streets of Beijing. Its quite a sunny day at that time. Good weather.
